Speaking to Off The Ball, Phil Thompson has been discussing Diogo Jota and his aerial ability.
Jota scored against Newcastle, and while his goal wasn’t a header, it was a good header that led to the rebound that he converted.
Jota, despite being just 5 ft 10, has an uncanny knack of scoring headed goals, and that’s something Thompson has picked up on.

Thompson was dissecting Jota’s performance against Newcastle and he touched on his aerial ability.
“For his size, I was watching him a lot last night, he was always getting in between defenders. Always trying and he’s very, very good in the air, which helps out a lot. Even though he’s not tall, he’s very good,” Thompson said.
Surprisingly brilliant
Jota is a tricky and quick forward, but he’s also surprisingly potent in the air.
He may be diminutive, but his timing is impeccable, and he possesses a brilliant leap.
He scored four headed goals in World Cup qualifying for Portugal, and if it weren’t for a great save from Martin Dubravka, he would have added another headed goal to his tally against the Magpies on Thursday.
Jota is a surprise package when it comes to aerial ability and his headers give Liverpool an added dynamic, especially when you consider the crossing ability of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.
