Speaking on The Beautiful Game Podcast, Eddie Nketiah has, perhaps somewhat controversially, sounded his appreciation for Harry Kane.
As we all know, Arsenal and Tottenham are the most bitter of rivals, and it’s very rare to hear an Arsenal player speak highly of a Spurs star, but Nketiah couldn’t help but admit he’s a big fan of Kane.
Indeed, the Arsenal man was asked who he thinks is the best player in the Premier League, and while Kevin De Bruyne was Nketiah’s pick, he still had good things to say about Kane.
What’s been said?
Nketiah had some praise to give to Kane.
“Kevin De Bruyne, he’s a joke I would say. I like Harry Kane as well to be fair, what he’s doing at the moment is crazy, Kevin De Bruyne though, some of the passes that you see, you just dream of getting on the end of them,” Nketiah said.
Transcends rivalry
Every now and then a player comes along that you just have to hold your hands up and admit they’re class, even if you don’t want to.
Tottenham fans will know all about that having watched Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp turn out for Arsenal in years gone by, and Kane is in that same mould.
It will hurt any Arsenal player to praise a Spurs man, but at the end of the day, Kane’s class is truly undeniable, and while Nketiah may not want him to do well, it’s hard to do anything but stand back and watch in awe when Kane is in full flow, even if your affiliations are with Arsenal.
