Micah Richards has stated that ‘you have got to love’ Marcelo Bielsa ‘even if you don’t support Leeds’, as he posted on Instagram.

Leeds United’s official Instagram page posted a video of Bielsa celebrating during his side’s 3-1 win over Burnley on Sunday.

The Leeds boss was visibly emotional as he celebrated with his coaching staff, as the club added the caption ‘Not just a game. Not just a club. Leeds means everything’.

BBC Sport pundit Richards posted the following message in the comments section: “Even if you don’t support Leeds. You have got to love him!”

It’s understandable why Bielsa was so emotional at the weekend because these recent matches have been tough on the Yorkshire club.

Bielsa has had to deal with injury after injury, and rather than moan about it, he has soldiered on and has had to witness his young guns suffer a number of morale-sapping defeats.

Whilst those losses haven’t helped their cause, in truth, what matters most now are those teams around them.

And Burnley are one of their relegation rivals and Leeds dealt with their threat at the weekend.

But with the January transfer window opened, it will be interesting if Bielsa dips into the market to add depth to his injury-savaged squad.

Whilst Patrick Bamford might return for their next match, that’s not the case for Kalvin Phillips or Liam Cooper, and this is a great chance for Leeds to try and put things right.
