The Leeds United attacker may struggle for starts given the increased competition for places.

The arrival of two new wingers at Leeds United on transfer deadline day raised immediate questions regarding the future of one player in particular.

Souleymane Doukara has come back from the brink at Elland Road, switching from much-maligned to the regularly called upon, and while his performances have not won over all his critics, he has definitely turned a significant corner at the club.

The problem is, the arrival of Alfonso Pedraza and Mo Barrow means Doukara now has even more competition for places and it would be no surprise to see the two recent additions become first-choice options sooner rather than later.

That would mean Doukara having to make do with a place on the bench and, assuming Leeds win promotion back to the top flight in May, potentially leaving Elland Road for good in the summer.

However, even if Doukara is no longer a regular in the starting XI and this is the beginning of the end of his time at Leeds, he should hold his head up high.

He has succeeded where so many have failed before him, refusing to give in even when all seemed lost at Elland Road and fighting back to put in some highly effective performances over the last few months.
