Manchester City legend David Silva has tipped Erling Haaland to become a huge success in the Premier League after a sensational start to life in England since the striker’s move.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Real Sociedad playmaker lauded City’s new no. 9 with Haaland becoming something of a revelation for the reigning Premier League champions this season, with the 22-year-old already on 13 goals for the campaign after just eight matches in all competitions.

Haaland scored the winner for City in their dramatic 2-1 win against former club Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, and many fans and pundits are now tipping the Norwegian international to break all sorts of goalscoring records in the years to come with the Manchester giants.

The attacker was signed by City to act as the final piece of the puzzle for Pep Guardiola’s plan to win the UEFA Champions League, and early signs seem to suggest that this could well be the case, with the Cityzens winning their opening two games against tough opposition.

Indeed, Silva would have relished with playing with a striker as potent as Haaland, and according to the Spanish playmaker himself, he is confident that the forward will continue to get better for City after an already record-breaking start to life in the Premier League.

Silva said on City’s new superstar: “Haaland is scoring lots of goals, which of course is good for the team. He’s scoring in games where it’s hard to find a way through. He’s a born goalscorer, we’ve seen it in his previous clubs too, and here I’m sure he will do even better.”

City played host to one of the Premier League’s greatest-ever strikers in Sergio Aguero, yet Haaland could well be another beast entirely based on his early form for the Manchester giants, and Silva is right to tip the youngster to somehow get better than he already is.

Indeed, players develop tenfold at City under the coaching of Pep Guardiola, and Haaland is already starting to show signs of improving based on the types of runs the attacker is making as well as the space for forward is creating up for his teammates in the final third.
