A few Arsenal transfer targets feature in our select round-up of European transfer gossip.
The long talked about future of Gonzalo Higuain is now confirmed. The Argentine was linked with several different deals this summer, including a long held belief that he would become an Arsenal player.
However today it was made official; he was unveiled as a Napoli player.
The fee has not been disclosed but he has signed a five-year deal with the fee believed to be in the region of £34.5 million.
Reported Arsenal target and Brazilian international midfielder Luiz Gustavo has been the subject of an official approach from VfL Wolfsburg. The versatile midfielder is believed to want a move as he is not assured of regular first-team football at the Bavarian club in a World Cup year.
Wolfsburg are believed to have the cash on hand to make a viable proposal to Bayern and could push through a deal quickly.
Lazio midfielder Hernanes has rejected any talk of him leaving the Italian capital this summer.
“I have a deal until 2015 and I feel good at Lazio. The market is open until September 2nd, but about PSG it is just rumours. I am happy with the Confederations Cup victory, and I’m also delighted to be back in Rome. The fans love me? Well I also love them very much.”
Real Sociedad reportedly want to sign Jonathan dos Santos, the brother of former Spurs player Giovanni, on loan from Barcelona. The 23-year-old has reportedly agreed personal terms on the deal; with the clubs now aiming to reach a deal.
AS Monaco have reportedly been priced out of a deal – for once. It is reported that Sporting Lisbon told the Monegasque club they wanted an extra €2 million on top of the amount they had already agreed with the club and the Ligue 1 side were not prepared to pay that fee. Subsequently the plug was pulled on any deal.
