Napoli are reportedly tempted to intensify their interest in signing Wolves attacker Adama Traore, with Leeds United recently being linked with the Spanish international.

According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Seire A leaders are ‘seriously’ thinking about swooping for the 26-year-old Wolves winger in January, with Traore set to leave Molineux in the coming weeks amid growing reports that the attacker is ready for a permanent change.

90min recently claimed that Jesse March’s Leeds are also interested in Traore as the American manager looks to add more firepower and speed into the Whites’ frontline, despite the former FC Barcelona loanee only scoring one Premier League goal this season.

However, Napoli could now be the favourites to sign Traore in January, with the Italian giants keen to introduce more quality into the squad next month as the Partenopei look to finally win the Scudetto after decades since their last league triumph.

With Napoli also one of the standout teams in the UEFA Champions League, Traore could be very tempted to sign for Luciano Spalletti’s side in January, especially with the Serie A side likely favourites to win both the Italian top-flight as well as succeed in Europe.

Indeed, Leeds could soon be left out in the cold in their venture to sign Traore with Napoli now firmly in the race to sign the Wolves attacker, with Marsch seemingly set to return to the drawing board over who to sign in the January transfer window.

Traore is clearly in need of a permanent change having failed to win a move to Barcelona in the summer and being a bit-part player for Wolves this season. And whilst Leeds would make sense for the Spaniard, Napoli would be the perfect move for the forward.

After all, Serie A is the ideal division for a player of Traore’s power and athleticism, and for an ambitious side like Napoli, the Leeds target can elevate his game to an incredible level that will likely help the Italian side to their first Scudetto since 1990.
