Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund could have a suitor lined up, with one European club reportedly making him their top transfer target and even planning to sell their current striker to bring him in.
After a challenging debut season at United, Hojlund is no longer considered untouchable in the squad, despite his age and potential.
Interest from Serie A has intensified in recent weeks and – while the Dane has insisted he wants to stay – his long-term future at Old Trafford remains up in the air.
Now, reports suggest one club is prepared to offload their existing forward to make room for the Red Devils’ striker, signalling how highly they rate him.
Mehdi Taremi could make way for Hojlund

In a twist of fate, Manchester United may now be indirectly linked to a player they previously passed on – with Mehdi Taremi potentially moving out to make space for Hojlund at Inter Milan.
Taremi was a prolific scorer for FC Porto when United were first linked with him, but the club instead opted to invest in Hojlund for the long term. And now, their paths could cross again, this time with Hojlund possibly replacing him in Italy.
According to Sky Italia, Inter’s new manager Cristian Chivu has identified Hojlund as his top attacking target and is ready to move Taremi on to make it happen.
The report adds that Inter will accelerate their pursuit of the United striker once the Club World Cup ends and the transfer window fully reopens.
Links between the Danish forward and Inter have persisted for months, but this is the strongest indication yet that the Italian giants are ready to push forward with a deal.

Time for Manchester United to get creative?
Unlike Marcus Rashford or Jadon Sancho, whose high wages could complicate potential exits, Hojlund is seen as a player with clear market value – and a club that is willing to take him on.
Still, United are in a weak negotiating spot due to his underwhelming season, which could impact the type of deal they’re able to secure.
However, Hojlund’s age and his promising track record in Serie A make him an intriguing option for Inter – and a candidate for a fresh start, much like several other former United players who rediscovered their form in Italy.
Given the circumstances, United might need to think outside the box. Options such as a loan with an obligation to buy – or even a creative joint-ownership structure like the one Betis proposed for Antony – could make sense, especially if there’s a sell-on clause attached.
Hojlund’s work ethic hasn’t been questioned, but sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what a young player needs to get back on track. Inter could be the perfect spot for him to do just that.
