Liverpool, Tottenham, Celtic and Everton all found out their Europa League fate in the round of 32 draw.
Liverpool have been drawn alongside Turkish side Besiktas in the last 32 of the Europa League, which will see them come up against a side that has beaten Tottenham, and run Arsenal close so far this season.
It also means a trip back to the scene of their Champions League triumph in 2005 with Besiktas currently playing their games at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium whilst their ground is being redeveloped.
Tottenham face Serie A side Fiorentina, whilst Celtic face the club they beat in their 1967 European Cup triumph when they take on Inter Milan.
Everton, the only British side to be seeded during the draw face a trip to Switzerland to take on BSC Young Boys, who faced Liverpool two seasons ago, playing out two thrillers with the Toffees’ Merseyside rivals.
The draw presents difficult assignments with Everton perhaps the happiest of all the British clubs that are left in the competition, and showing that topping their group has become crucial, but all of the English clubs will be expected to progress.
Celtic will be hoping a special European night at Parkhead which has seen many of Europe’s famous clubs leave defeated in the past will set them up with something to play for ahead of their return trip to the San Siro.
