Paris Saint-Germain have told Julian Draxler that leaving the Ligue 1 side is his best option, amid reports linking the German with Tottenham, according to Get French Football News.
Draxler has spent the season firmly on the fringes of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Le Parc des Princes. The 28-year-old has only made 15 appearances in all competitions and has started just six of his matches so far. His outings also only total 611-minutes of game time.
Pochettino last started the midfielder in a French top-flight game on November 6, for only his fourth of the campaign. The former Spurs manager is unlikely to change his view of the versatile playmaker, either. So, PSG believe it is in his best interests to leave the club soon.

Paris Saint-Germain have told Draxler he must leave if he wants to make Germany’s squad for the 2022 World Cup. However, they awarded him a new contract running to 2024 only last summer. He and his wife are also happy in Paris, where the couple both feel settled.
Draxler’s contract extension and his market value being at its lowest ever point will make a late January transfer challenging. But Paris Saint-Germain know their €47m (£39m) signing from Wolfsburg in 2016’s long-term future is not with Les Parisiens.
Draxler open to joining Tottenham in loan transfer from Paris Saint-Germain
So, Paris Saint-Germain are urging Draxler to leave and are trying to convince him that his best option is to go, amid claims by 90min that he is open to a loan transfer to Tottenham.

Draxler’s name was mentioned in discussions between Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham over Tanguy Ndombele’s loan transfer. PSG have considered including the German as part of a temporary swap deal to reunite the Frenchman with Pochettino.
But it is still questionable how interested Tottenham are in signing Draxler – either on loan or permanently – from Paris Saint-Germain. It is also up for debate if the £59k-a-week ace would consider a permanent move to north London this month.
Leaving Les Parc des Princes will also see Draxler walk away from a Champions League last-16 tie with Real Madrid. Les Parisiens are chasing a third semi-final run in a row this term after finishing as runners-up in 2019/20, while exiting at the semi-final stage last term.
