West Ham United look set to seal a deal for the exciting youngster

Own Goal Nigeria is reporting comments attributed to a senior official at Belgian club Eupen, which suggest West Ham United have a clear run at striker Henry Onyekuru.
The 20-year-old has been in blistering form this season, scoring 24 goals and providing nine assists in 41 appearances, and a recent report from the Daily Mail claimed he was set to arrive in England on Tuesday after the Hammers seemingly beat Arsenal to his signature.
West Ham need more strikers with an over-reliance on Andy Carroll
Now it appears fresh light has been shed on the situation, with a top official from Eupen stating the following when approached by Own Goal Nigeria: “We received inquiries from all of the teams mentioned but only West Ham followed up with a firm bid. For now that is the only bid on the table.”
It is somewhat surprising when you consider the same report names Arsenal, Newcastle United and Swansea City as interested parties in the free-scoring forward. However, unless there is a late twist it seems West Ham will bring in one of the most exciting young goal-scorers in Europe.

It remains to be seen if a deal can be struck but if the comments are true, it is unlikely that Eupen will be able to generate an auction Onyekuru, and may instead have to take whatever West Ham are offering, provided it is not a derisory offer.
With the Mail suggesting a fee of around £7million will get a deal done, West Ham fans could soon be celebrating quite a coup from manager Slaven Bilic.
The report finishes by suggesting Onyekuru will travel to London tomorrow and will hold talks with any club that meets his asking price.
