Mateusz Klich has endured a difficult start to life at Leeds United, barely featuring for Thomas Christiansen’s men.
One of the first transfers that Leeds completed over the summer was the signing of Mateuz Klich, the Poland international who boasted plenty of experience in the Eredivisie and in the German second tier before his Elland Road arrival.
That CV meant that it appeared to be something of a coup for the Whites to bring a player of Klich’s calibre to the club – but his start to life in Yorkshire has certainly been underwhelming.
The 27-year-old has barely featured for Thomas Christiansen’s men this term, having made just a couple of substitute appearances in the Championship so far.
Unfortunately for Klich, the depth that the Leeds side boast in the middle of the park has made his job much tougher, but perhaps one of the players keeping him down the pecking order currently should give him some hope that he can turn his fortunes around.
Eunan O’Kane appeared to be an excellent signing last summer but his first year at Elland Road proved to be a frustrating one for the Republic of Ireland international.
O’Kane made just 20 starts in the second tier last term, which is almost scarcely believable at the moment given how important and influential he has been to the side this season.
The turnaround that O’Kane has enjoyed should certainly give Klich plenty of hope that if circumstances present him with the chance to make a much greater impact, he could potentially swiftly move himself up the pecking order.
And with plenty of twists and turns surely ahead over the course of the coming season, it is difficult to imagine that Klich will not get that chance to prove himself.
