The Leeds United midfielder has helped his young teammates excel.
Following the news that Leeds United midfielder Eunan O’Kane has returned from international duty early due to a groin injury, the Whites’ hierarchy will be hoping it is nothing more than a precaution.
While the likes of Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley have been taking the plaudits this season, their Leeds teammate O’Kane has been superb in a central midfield role, with the Whites excelling despite the injury absence of skipper Liam Bridcutt.

There were concerns with youngsters Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira stepping into the breach on a regular basis despite their undeniable talent, but O’Kane’s calmness alongside them has allowed the next generation to shine, with Vieira in particular looking a class act.
With Bridcutt not yet ready to return to first-team action, Leeds manager Garry Monk will be desperate to have O’Kane available for the upcoming clash with league leaders Newcastle United.

If not, it is up to Vieira and Phillips to do the business and, while they are more than capable, O’Kane’s importance could be highlighted if he is not around for Leeds’ biggest match of the season so far.
