Whites ace Eunan O’Kane spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s fine 2-1 win away at Burton Albion yesterday, and shared how he and his teammates watched a tape of last season’s defeat at the Pirelli Stadium in preparation for the game, as quoted by the club’s official website.

Leeds now sit comfortably inside the promotion play-off spots in fifth position, just five points adrift of second placed Bristol City, and there is a real wave of optimism emanating from Elland Road for the first time in a very long time.

The west Yorkshire outfit are currently in the midst of a superb run of form, having recorded four consecutive victories, and promotion back to the Premier League now seems like a very real possibility.

O’Kane himself has played a vital role in his side’s successful campaign thus far, appearing in 21 Championship games.

The 27-year-old spoke to reporters after Leeds’ hard-fought 2-1 win at Burton yesterday, and offered an insight into how his team prepared for the game, as quoted by LeedsUnited.com:

“It is a great win, we knew coming here was going to be very difficult. We learnt a lesson here last year and it was emphasised before the game, how big on a test this would be. The game here last season more or less ended our Play-Off hopes and we had a little bit of a score to settle for some of us who were here and we did look back on it and picked out where we went wrong and tried not to let this happen again.”

Next up for Leeds is a trip to St Andrews to take on Birmingham City on Saturday, and nothing less than a win will do, as they look to keep pace with those above them in the table.
