Leeds United midfielder has been instrumental this season, when he has played.

Liam Bridcutt’s untimely suspension leaves Leeds United with a hole to fill in midweek against Bristol City – but fortunately they have the right player available to step up.

The midfielder’s red card provides an opportunity for summer signing Eunan O’Kane to get back into the starting line-up, having sat out the defeat to Cardiff.

O’Kane made an immediate impression after signing for the Whites, but his early impact in midfield was overshadowed by Pontus Jansson’s colossal performances in defence.

His displays allowed Leeds to get by untroubled during Liam Bridcutt’s spell out injured, and results since suggest Leeds are more successful with him in the side.

O’Kane missed time due to injury, and has started just two games since November. These were the 2-1 win over Blackburn at the beginning of February, and the 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Over the last two games he has played only eight minutes of the defeat to Huddersfield, with Garry Monk preferring others instead of him.

Now O’Kane has an ideal opportunity to come back into the XI, and it is unlikely Monk will ignore the 26-year-old.
