Leeds United are in the Championship playoffs at the moment.
Leeds United midfielder Eunan O’Kane has suggested to The Yorkshire Evening Post that losing a few games should not create panic.
The West Yorkshire outfit are going strong in the Championship at the moment and are genuine contenders for the playoffs.
The Whites are fifth in the league table at the moment with 29 points from 18 matches.
O’Kane, who is 26 years of age and joined Leeds from Premier League outfit Bournemouth in the summer transfer window, has outlined the importance of keeping calm if things go wrong.
“I don’t think you can complain about being in the play-offs,” O’Kane told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “But even if you’re ninth or 10th, you won’t be too far off in January or February and really that’s the business end. I’d swap this position now to be in it in May.
“If we lose a few games and slip down the table a bit it’s not the end of the world. That’s football and we still have a lot of games left. But at this point there’s no real downside for us.”
Leeds did not start the season strongly, but their performances and results over the past few weeks have been impressive.
The Whites will go through a bad spell this season, and it will be important for the players and the fans not to panic when that period comes.
Garry Monk’s side will return to action on Saturday evening when they take on fellow promotion contenders Aston Villa at Elland Road in the Championship.
Villa, who got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, are 11th in the league table at the moment, just four points behind Leeds.
