Pablo Hernandez scored a penalty for Leeds United on Saturday.
Leeds United star Eunan O’Kane has told LUTV that he has never seen team-mate Pablo Hernandez miss a penalty.
The 32-year-old opened his account for Leeds this season in Saturday’s 5-0 demolition of Burton Albion by slotting home a spot-kick just before half time to put United three ahead.
Chris Wood, who joined Burnley last month, was on penalty duties for the Whites last season but it would seem as if Hernandez is Johnny on the Spot this time around.
And the Republic of Ireland international has told LUTV that he has never seen his Spanish counterpart miss from 12 yards, before admitting he shouldn’t have given that away.
He said, when asked by the interviewer what was said during the break: “I don’t think I’ve seen Pablo miss one yet. I probably shouldn’t really say that, but half time for us was just a case of the more experienced players saying ‘keep going’.
“The message was ‘keep going, put them to the sword’.”
Wood scored all six of his penalties for Leeds last season, so former manager Garry Monk cannot be blamed for overlooking Hernandez’s perceived gift when it comes to scoring from 12 yards.
The Elland Road club sit second in the Championship and could move top tonight if they beat Birmingham City and top-of-the-table Cardiff City drop points.
