Leeds United are gearing up for their first competitive game since Garry Monk quit the club in May.
Speaking to LUTV, Eunan O’Kane has highlighted one difference between Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen and his predecessor Garry Monk.
Leeds are on the eve of their first competitive match under Christiansen as United gear up for a trip to Bolton Wanderers in their Championship opener tomorrow.
The aim for the 44-year-old will be to build on the foundations laid by Monk last season, after the Whites came perilously close to winning a playoff spot but ultimately finished seventh.
Monk, now at Middlesbrough, shocked the Championship a couple of weeks later by resigning from his role at Elland Road, before Christiansen was drafted in as his replacement.
Asked about how the team has changed under Christiansen since Monk, O’Kane told LUTV: “I would say his philosophies are different to the manager last season.
“He’s very adamant about having the ball but he’s not afraid to mix it up if necessary so he has on his own ideas and his own philosophies so hopefully we’ll see them come out.”
Fans of the Yorkshire club aren’t happy with the 38-year-old following his exit, given he joined Championship rivals Middlesbrough, and Leeds supporters will be hoping that their former coach endures a torrid time at the Riverside.
