Leeds United duo thrilled to help side to victory.
Chris Wood celebrates scoring Leeds United’s first goal
Leeds United bounced back from their weekend defeat to Cardiff City by beating Bristol City 2-1 at Elland Road.
Despite the narrow scoreline the win was a comfortable one for the Whites, scoring twice before half time and only conceding a late consolation.
The win helped Leeds stay in fifth spot in the Championship table, keeping pace with both Huddersfield and Reading who each earned late wins, while top two Brighton and Newcastle both recorded draws.
Leeds duo Eunan O’Kane and Kemar Roofe commented on Twitter after the win, expressing their delight and thanking fans.
The win was Leeds’ seventh in eight games at Elland Road, demonstrating that the weekend loss to Cardiff was an anomaly rather than the start of an unwelcome trend.
O’Kane was making his return to the starting XI in place of the suspended Liam Bridcutt, and stepped up once again, in is 15th league start for the club.
Chris Wood netted his 19th league goal of the season in the victory, with Pablo Hernandez providing the assist and scoring himself.
