Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell has told the Sheffield Star he is yet to speak to new boss Paul Lambert.

Ebanks-Landell was farmed out to Sheffield United by Lambert’s predecessor Walter Zenga in August and has impressed for the League One, scoring four goals in 13 unbeaten appearances.

The 23-year-old’s loan deal expires at the end of the campaign, although his situation is set to be reviewed in the New Year following Lambert’s appointment at Molineux.

Asked whether he had spoken to the Scot, the Wolves academy product replied: “I’ve spoken to the physio there. But, at the moment, that’s really about it. I’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”

If it was up to Ebanks-Landell, however, he would be seeing out the rest of the campaign at Bramall Lane.

He added: “If it’s up to me then, yes, I’d love to stay until the end of the season. I’m enjoying my football and wherever I’m enjoying my football is where I want to be. I’m contracted to Wolves and so it’s down to them. But, personally, I’d like to see it through here.”

Ebanks-Landell scored a 90th-minute winner as Sheffield United overcame nine-man Bury on Tuesday, to keep the Blades in the automatic promotion places.

Wolves, in contrast, are only two points above the Championship drop zone having failed to win any of their last eight matches.

Ebanks-Landell’s contract is set to expire in June, although Wolves have an option to extend it by a further year should they wish to.
