Estevao Willian had his pick of Europe’s top clubs before deciding on Chelsea, and it was the promise of regular playing time at Stamford Bridge that ultimately made the difference.
Not every summer signing has hit the ground running for Chelsea this season, but Estevao Willian has been a real bright spot.

Estevao credits Chelsea move to promise of consistent playing time
In an interview with The Sun’s Jack Rosser, Estevao explained why he felt Chelsea offered a better path to first-team football than other Premier League sides.
“My family went to other clubs but what caught my attention was Chelsea.
“I thought Chelsea would be the perfect future for me because it would get me more minutes.”
The report also noted that Manchester United, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest had all spoken with Estevao’s representatives about a potential transfer, but he turned them down in favour of the Blues.
Chelsea have since projected Estevao’s value could reach £200 million in the future, and there is already growing belief they might be right.
What is next for Estevao?
Estevao started the 2025/26 season in excellent form, scoring seven goals across all competitions and becoming the club’s youngest player to score in back-to-back Champions League matches. But now, at just 18 years old, he finds himself sidelined.
