His form has predictably raised the possibility of Real Madrid or Barcelona swooping for him this summer.
Burley said: “He is propelling himself into the conversation for some of the so called bigger clubs.
“Tottenham want to hold onto him. He’s a super little player who is a big link in that Tottenham team.
“They could not afford to lose him. Particularly if you are Harry Kane, losing someone like Eriksen it would be huge.”
Eriksen is Tottenham’s most creative player and is deadly from open play and set pieces.
The Dane has linked up with Kane repeatedly since the Englishman broke into the Tottenham first team and has been a near ever present.
Spurs could find it tough to replace him no matter how much money they gained for him.
If his departure would have a negative impact on Kane too, then it is just one more reason for Spurs to keep hold of him.
