The Tottenham Hotspur man might struggle for regular action this season.

When speaking exclusively to ESPN, Steve Nicol suggested that Eric Dier could very well be pushed out of the picture at Tottenham this season, following the arrival of Giovani Lo Celso.
The 25-year-old joined Spurs from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014, for a fee believed to be worth just £4 million, according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to make 209 appearances for the north London outfit.
It seems highly likely that he will struggle for first-team action this season, however, following the arrivals of Tanguy Ndombele and Lo Celso.
Unless he reverts to a centre-back of course, but then he would face similar problems, with Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez all standing in his way.
And ESPN pundit Nicol suggested that the 40-capped England international could be out of the picture at Tottenham this season:

“He’s (Lo Celso) also played in the Copa [America], so his core fitness is still there. That might give him the advantage over the likes of Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko. Certainly Eric Dier looks to be out of the picture.”
Dier, who earns £60,000 per week according to Spotrac, has struggled with injuries and form over the past 12 months, and it will be vital for him to re-establish himself for Spurs this season, or risk being moved on by Mauricio Pochettino.
He is still a useful squad member for Tottenham, however, and he is still under contract with the north London outfit until the summer of 2021.
Dier must raise his levels this term, however, if he is to remain at Spurs for the foreseeable future.
