ESPN pundit Shaka Hislop says he is confident Tottenham will finish above Arsenal this season.

He believes the North London derby win for Arsenal will not lead to the Gunners usurping their rivals long term.

Hislop feels both teams will fall short of challenging for the title, with Manchester City racing away into an eight point lead already.

Hislop said: “I still feel they (Arsenal) will finish top four.

“Arsenal as good as they were, will miss out.”

The defeat hurts Tottenham’s aspirations to challenge for the title, and at the moment they are not even putting pressure on leaders City, who are 11 points ahead of them.

Arsenal are one point behind Spurs, closing a gap of four points which existed prior to the win.

The Gunners won the game 2-0 with Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez scoring late first half goals for which Tottenham had no response.

Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs both look strong this season, which would mean there could be only one Champions League spot for the North London sides. If Liverpool get their act together too, both could even end up missing out.
