Liverpool battle with Tottenham Hotspur for a League Cup quarter-final spot tonight.

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp speaks with Philippe Coutinho before the match

Alejandro Moreno has told ESPN that he fancies Liverpool to get past Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield tonight to reach the quarter-final of the League Cup.

Two of the Premier League’s title challengers square off on Merseyside tonight in what could well be the best tie of the fourth round.

Both sides played out a 1-1 draw when they met at White Hart Lane back in August, and Tottenham are only one point behind them in the Premier League.

Spurs are the only side left in England’s top flight yet to taste defeat domestically and Mauricio Pochettino’s side will fancy their chances of reaching the last eight.

Pochettino and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp are bound to make changes as both managers look to keep pace in the title race this weekend.

And Moreno has suggested that the Reds will come out on top at Anfield.

He told ESPN: “I think Liverpool is quickly becoming one of my favourite teams to watch and I’m going to take Liverpool at home.”

The prediction is understandable, given that Tottenham are without a win from their last three games in all competitions.

Goals are also hard to come by for Pochettino’s troops at the moment, scoring once in those three games, and it seems like they are finally feeling the effects of losing Harry Kane.

Vincent Janssen, a £17 million signing from AZ Alkmaar, is still waiting for his first goal from open play in English football, and he may spearhead the attack tonight.
