Isco has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Speaking to ESPN, Alejandro Moreno does not believe that reported Tottenham Hotspur target Isco will leave Real Madrid in January.

Speculation has mounted from The Independent that the Spanish playmaker could join Tottenham on loan when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.

Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela have not had fantastic seasons so far and it has been suggested that Spurs need a world-class playmaker in order to move up a level.

The 24-year-old was said to be frustrated at his lack of first-team chances under Zinedine Zidane this season, with the former Malaga star starting four Liga games – and two of those have come in the last two weeks.

Asked whether the Spain international could join Mauricio Pochettino’s side in North London in the coming months, Moreno told ESPN: “I don’t think it’s Tottenham, and I don’t think Isco’s moving.

There’s been a little bit of life around what Isco’s been doing at Real Madrid for the last three or four weeks, but I think he’ll stay.”

Tottenham could certainly do with a player of that quality but it remains to be seen if they have the pulling power to sign such a big name.

Given the fact that Real Madrid have plucked some of Spurs’ best players down the years, it would be indicative of the Lilywhites’ growing ambition if they were recruit one of the Blancos – even if he is at as important for Real as Gareth Bale and Luka Modric were for the English side.
