The out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur defender is linked to Aston Villa.

Janusz Michallik has told ESPN that out-of-favour Spurs defender DeAndre Yedlin should consider a move to Aston Villa in the Championship.
The 23-year-old Tottenham man is behind Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier in the list of Mauricio Pochettino’s favoured right-backs.

Aston Villa have been credited by The Telegraph with an interest in the USA international as manager Roberto Di Matteo reportedly plots a £3 million bid.
Yedlin spent last season on loan at Sunderland and might prefer to stay in the Premier League, but Michalik believes that Aston Villa – 12th in the Championship after four matches – is a good fit for the young defender.
He told ESPN: “Obviously it’s difficult for him to break into the Spurs lineup so if he wants to continue to develop I think he should go.
“It [Aston Villa] is still a big club and I think he would get a different experience under Di Matteo. It’s better than sitting on the bench at Tottenham so I think Yedlin should do it [join the Villans].”

At 23, the Tottenham full-back is probably close enough to being the finished article as far as his development goes.
He can improve, sure, but a stint in the rough and tumble of the Championship may cause him to regress. Everybody knows it is a physical and demanding league in which the games come thick and fast.
That being said, Aston Villa fans might jump at the chance to see a player push Alan Hutton further down the pecking order at Villa Park.
