The Blues are currently second in the table after five games of the season.

Everton assistant manager Erwin Koeman has told Metro Nieuws that securing European football would be a great achievement for the Blues this season.
The Toffees have started the season on fire under new manager Ronald Koeman, picking up 13 points from their first five games.
They are currently second in the table, a start that represents their best start to a league campaign since 1978.
That has obviously excited the Everton fans, who are already dreaming of a potential push for Champions League football this year.

Indeed, there is also talk of them potentially replicating Leicester City’s surprise title last season but Koeman has moved to dampen such expectations.
“Now we are asked if Everton can repeat the (achievements of) Leicester City, but their title is a miracle,” he told Metro Nieuws.
“A wonder that has ensured that the top clubs have awakened. If we get European football, that would be a great achievement.”

As much as Everton do not want the comparisons to Leicester City at this stage, the similarities are there.
At this stage, last season they were second in the table behind Manchester City and had a similar goal difference to the one the Blues currently have.
If Everton continue to show the fine form that they have so far, those comparisons are only likely to continue. One thing that is certain, they would welcome a similar year to the one Claudio Ranieri’s side enjoyed.
