Eros Grezda’s future at Rangers is wrapped up in uncertainty, and the winger’s withdrawal from the Albania national team only adds to that.

Last week, Grezda’s agent, Ives Cakarun, suggested to The Scottish Sun that he was going to hold talks with Rangers over the future of his client.

The 24-year-old, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, struggled for playing time at Rangers this season, having joined the Gers from Osijek in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £2 million.

According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old winger made only seven starts and just six substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers this season, scoring two goals in the process.

The winger had joined the Albania national football team for their European Championship qualifying double header with Iceland and Moldova, but he has withdrawn from the two matches due to what the Albania FA said are “personal reasons”, as reported in The Daily Record.

The Glasgow Evening Times quotes Grezda as saying: “I’m sorry to inform you that I will not be ready to help the national team in the next two games.”

Could it be that Rangers and Grezda are going to hold crunch talks over the winger’s future in the coming days, which is why he has decided to withdraw from the Albania squad?
