Rangers brought winger Eros Grezda to Ibrox in August.
Rangers picked up another thumping win under Steven Gerrard this afternoon, as they beat Heart of Midlothian 3-1 at Ibrox to lay down another title marker.
The Gers were rampant in the first half, as Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield all got on the scoresheet, and whilst Jimmy Dunne pulled one back in the second half, this was certainly Rangers’ day.
Those involved will be delighted with the win, but some fans were left a little confused as to why winger Eros Grezda wasn’t even in the squad today.
The Albanian wide man was snapped up from Osijek in August, with the pacey winger seen as a hugely exciting signing following the season-ending injury to Jamie Murphy.
However, Grezda is yet to start a first-team game for Rangers, and wasn’t even named on the bench today as Glenn Middleton was the only winger in Steven Gerrard’s squad.
Grezda has though discussed his start to life with Rangers, telling The Scottish Sun that he has learned of Gerrard’s focus and professionalism since joining forces with him at Ibrox.
Grezda added that Gerrard’s training sessions are the best he has ever been involved in, and is appreciative that the Rangers boss understands it will take him a little while to get up to speed in Scotland; possibly why he wasn’t in the squad today, having only recently stepped up his return from injury.
“Steven Gerrard is very professional. He is very focused and has created a very good team spirit – you really notice it in training,” said Grezda. “The training is really good and the best I have been involved with. I have nothing but praise for him as a manager.”
“I have spoken a lot with him and he knows it will take me some time to adjust to football in Scotland and with Rangers. It’s important he knows my qualities and what I can bring to the team,” he added.
