Rangers winger Eros Grezda was in international action on Wednesday night.
Rangers fans haven’t seen much of winger Eros Grezda since his arrival in August, but he was in action for Albania on Wednesday night.
The Gers landed Grezda from Osijek after Jamie Murphy’s season-ending injury, with fans excited about the prospect of seeing the pacey wide man in action.
However, Grezda has been limited to just three substitute appearances so far, having arrived with an injury, with Steven Gerrard taking it slowly with the Albanian.
That didn’t stop him playing for his country on Wednesday night though, as Grezda started for Albania in their 0-0 friendly draw with Jordan.
Grezda played in a new role as a striker, with Rangers fans no doubt interested in that, given that he may be one option for Gerrard to use in attack against Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup semi-final later this month, with Kyle Lafferty cup-tied and Alfredo Morelos suspended.
However, Grezda – who played 45 minutes last night – has told Panorama in Albania that he didn’t feel entirely comfortable playing centrally, and noted that he wasn’t at his best due to his injury comeback, but suggested he will be in better form very shortly.
Albania fans took to Twitter to react to his performance, suggesting that he doesn’t look the same as he used to, but did grow into the game having missed an early chance to score.
Rangers fans also commented, with one supporters highly encouraged by his performance, and other just hoping that he got through the game unscathed as the wide man waits for his first Rangers start.
