Premier League clubs are one month into the 2022/23 season, so HITC Sport have taken a look at who the top-10 shooters have been – with Erling Haaland and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Arsenal continue to sit top of the table after the opening six games of the campaign on 15 points from five wins. The Gunners have also scored 14 of the 175 goals scored across the top-flight, enough for the fourth-best attack to Manchester City, Liverpool and Brentford.

Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli have scored three so far as Arsenal’s joint-top scorers. They are three of eight players to score three goals, behind Haaland (10), Mitrovic (6), Harry Kane, Ivan Toney (5), Alexis Mac Allister, Rodrigo and Wilfried Zaha (4).

Mac Allister has scored three of his four goals so far from the penalty spot, while Haaland, Mitrovic and Toney have all scored once from 12-yards out. Haaland also has the most in open play with five, but where does he rank among the Premier League’s best shooters?

Mitrovic is Premier League’s most active shooter so far in 2022/23

Mitrovic is the Premier League’s most active shooter so far in the 2022/23 season, having attempted 27 efforts, per SofaScore. His efforts on goal have helped to seven points, with newly-promoted Fulham also drawing at Wolves to take eight points and sit in 10th-place.

Haaland, meanwhile has attempted 25 shots on route to taking an early lead in the Golden Boot list after his arrival in the Premier League from Borussia Dortmund for £51m. The 22-year-old has taken marginally more than Kane (22), Jesus, Martinelli (20) and Rodrigo (19).

Everton winger Anthony Gordon has taken the seventh-most shots in the Premier League so far on 18. But his efforts – which eclipse Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, Solly March and Son Heung-Min (17) – have only returned two goals over his six appearances to date.

Haaland is Premier League’s most accurate shooter so far in 2022/23

Along with being the top-scorer through six fixtures, Haaland is the Premier League’s most accurate shooter so far in 2022/23 – alongside Mitrovic. The Manchester City forward and Fulham talisman have directed 15 of their total attempts on target in the opening games.

Gordon has found the target the third-most with 13 on target attempts, despite him only hitting the net twice to date. The Everton product’s ability to test goalkeepers has put him above Kane at the one month stage of the campaign, with Tottenham Hotspur’s star on 12.

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino ranks fifth for his on target shots in the Premier League so far this season with nine. Martinelli, Zaha and March boast eight, ahead of Jesus, Luis Diaz, Rodrigo and Son, who have all directed seven of their early-season efforts on target.
