It was almost two years ago that then-Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen gave that interview.

Eriksen, shortly after Tottenham’s Champions League final defeat by Liverpool, revealed via The Guardian that he wanted to leave North London.

The Denmark international hadn’t won anything in his first six years as a Spurs player and he was ready to leave.

The former Ajax playmaker didn’t get his move until six months later, when he joined Inter Milan.

But Eriksen has now finally got his hands on some silverware.

Antonio Conte’s Inter side were crowned Serie A champions on Sunday after Atalanta dropped points, ensuring the San Siro club, who have a 13-point cushion, couldn’t be caught this season.

Eriksen struggled for regular football during the first half of the campaign but has been an ever-present figure in Conte’s first XI as of late.

And here’s how the former Tottenham star reacted on Instagram:

There were some familiar names popping up in Eriksen’s responses.

Michel Vorm, the former Spurs goalkeeper who returned to the club as a coach under Ryan Mason last month, wrote ‘Congrats mattie’ and added a number of fire and applause emojis.

Current Tottenham right-back wrote ‘Congratulations Maestro’ in reference to Eriksen’s nickname at Hotspur Way when he was there.
