Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen has told The Mirror that he thinks new signing Vincent Janssen has a good connection with fellow striker Harry Kane.
Spurs claimed their first win of the new Premier League season on Saturday afternoon by beating Crystal Palace 1-0 at White Hart Lane, in a game which saw Janssen make his full league debut.
The Dutch striker had featured as a substitute against Everton on the opening day of the season, but was handed a role alongside Harry Kane in a two-man attack against Palace as Mauricio Pochettino gave him a chance to impress.

Janssen, 22, certainly showed his quality at White Hart Lane, and whilst he missed a superb chance in the second half to give Spurs the lead, his all-round game has been praised by fans and pundits alike.
A big-money signing fro AZ Alkmaar this summer having hit 31 goals last season, Janssen has made a strong start to life in North London – and one of his team-mates has now added his praise too.
Playmaker Christian Eriksen knows all about the transition from Dutch football to the Premier League having joined Spurs from Ajax back in the summer of 2013, and he’s clearly been impressed with Janssen’s performances.

Speaking to The Mirror, Eriksen suggested that Janssen is ‘proper English’ in the way he plays, as he had lots of ‘hustle and bustle’ against Crystal Palace, giving Kane a break from the physicality of leading the line on his own.
Eriksen added that he thinks Janssen and Kane already have instantly struck up a good connection, and believes the Dutchman has added a focal point in attack that Spurs need sometimes.

“Vincent took some big hits for the team with all the hustle and bustle up front which I think made it a bit easier for Harry because normally it’s him that’s doing all the battling,” said Eriksen. “I think there was a good connection between them and especially with Vincent, he’s something different – even though he’s from Holland, he’s proper English!”
“He loves to tackle, he loves to battle and he loves to play football. Of course it’s the beginning for him, he wants to show everyone that he can play football and he’s done that. He wants to show off his qualities. We saw that against Crystal Palace with the battling and keeping hold of the ball which sometimes we need. He did that very well,” he added.
