Rangers could face FC Midtjylland at Ibrox in the Europa League.

Rangers could face FC Midtjylland in the Europa League – and a familiar face is certainly looking forward to that possibility.
The Gers beat Progres Niederkorn 2-0 at Ibrox on Thursday night to put one foot in the next round of qualification for the Europa League group stage.
In the next round, Steven Gerrard’s men would be facing Danish outfit Midtjylland, and that means running into a former Old Firm rival.
Midtjylland brought defender Erik Sviatchenko back to the club from Celtic last year, and he could quickly face Rangers once again.
The centre back scored against Rangers at Hampden Park in 2016, and would be looking to repeat the trick against the Gers if they meet again.
Sviatchenko knows all about Gerrard’s side and the raucous Ibrox atmosphere that would await him, and he admitted that it would be ‘pretty intense’ to play in front of 50,000 fans at Ibrox.

The centre back has now noted to The Scottish Sun that it would be ‘super cool’ to face Rangers in that setting, believing that the tie would be 50-50, feeling the two sides are well-matched.
“It would be super cool. I am extremely pleased,” said Sviatchenko “I honestly believe the tie would be 50-50. We wouldn’t have any advantage because Rangers’ home ground would be significant. There would be 50,000 fans inside the stadium and that’s pretty intense.”
“That is something we would need to cope with and, of course, I will do my best to help and prepare the other players for it,” he added.
