The 26-year-old central defender, currently on loan at Danish club Midtjylland on loan from Celtic, has praised Brown’s leadership.

Sviatchenko told The Glasgow Evening Times about Brown: “He is one of the few players who has that special button.

“He can be silly and playing around one minute and then he hits the button and he is in full-on game mode.

“He can carry people where he wants them to go and that is a special kind of leadership.”

Scott Brown of Celtic is seen during the UEFA Champions League group B match between Celtic FC and RSC Anderlecht at Celtic Park on December 5, 2017 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Celtic legend

Brown has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Hibernian for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million.

The 32-year-old has had injury concerns, but the former Scotland international remains an important player for the Hoops.

The former Hibernian star will be a key player for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership game against Rangers at Ibrox this weekend.

For Brendan Rodgers’s side to win the Old Firm derby against the Gers, Brown has to be on top of his own.

Sviatchenko joined Celtic from Midtjylland in January 2016 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £1.5m when Ronny Deila was in charge.
