Brendan Rodgers has not been able to call upon Erik Sviatchenko at Celtic since July.

Sviatchenko picked up an injury way back in July, after starting in Celtic’s Champions League qualifying match against Rosenborg.
The Danish international has been sidelined ever since, but he is finally coming back to fitness now.
And Sviatchenko has admitted that being on the treatment table for so long has frustrated him.
“It has been frustrating to be left out with an injury, especially with the timing,” the centre-back said. “It happened against Rosenborg away and I had just come back from a minor injury. I was back in the squad and trusted to play in a big game.

“I started well and then after 25 minutes I was injured.”
Sviatchenko’s return to fitness will boost Celtic’s defensive options, ahead of what could be a crucial part of the campaign.
The Bhoys are not only looking to protect their unbeaten record in domestic competition, but they also have Champions League matters to be concerned with.

Celtic’s victory over Anderlecht has put them in a commanding position to at least finish in third place in the group, which would seal Europa League football in 2018.
Sviatchenko will have to get into the team ahead of the likes of Dedryck Boyata and Jozo Simunovic, if he is to break back into Rodgers’ starting plans.
