The Tottenham winger is finally back in action after returning from injury.

Tottenham Hotspur suffered another setback last night as they were beaten 2-1 by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. But there was one positive to take from proceedings, with Erik Lamela marking his return to action with a fine cameo appearance.
After 13 months out due to injury, Lamela finally returned to action as he replaced Christian Eriksen in the second half.
Just 132 seconds after his introduction Lamela made a significant contribution as he found Harry Kane, who pulled a goal back from Tottenham.

In an instant Lamela provided a reminder of the impact that he can make and if the Argentine can make such contributions on a regular basis then it will be hugely beneficial for Tottenham.
Concerns persist regarding whether Lamela is especially well suited to playing in Tottenham’s current formation as he would surely benefit more from playing as a winger in a 4-2-3-1 system.

However, Lamela is certainly a useful option for manager Mauricio Pochettino to call upon and could provide an alternative to Eriksen when the Dane is injured or not performing to his usual high standards.
Lamela’s directness and trickery can torment opponents and, while he will initially be eased back into action via substitute appearances, the 25-year-old could soon become a very important player again for Tottenham.
