Tottenham’s Erik Lamela missed out on the opener.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela had to watch the club’s first game at their new stadium from the stands.

The Argentine is sidelined with fitness issues, with Premier Injuries reporting he has a hamstring strain with no set return date.

Lamela is looking forward to the moment when he does get his chance to play at the new stadium.

The winger posted a message to his Instagram page from the stands.

Lamela, 27, has last featured for Spurs in the 1-0 away win over Borussia Dortmund as a substitute.

His last start was in the loss to Chelsea in late February.

After a bright start to the season he has faded badly, with his last goal in November.

Perhaps when he is fit again, the new stadium will rejuvenate him and see Lamela finish the season strongly.
