Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela and Paulo Gazzaniga are both in the Argentina squad.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela has told ESPN that he thinks Paulo Gazzaniga has been ‘amazing’ – and is showing his Premier League quality in training every day.
Spurs have seen Hugo Lloris struggle at times this season, and with Michel Vorm far from impressive either, Gazzaniga has been given opportunities to shine.
The Argentinian made just one appearance last season, but has now played five times this term, including two Premier League games, in which he showed real promise in the Spurs goal.
Gazzaniga, 26, was a shock signing for Mauricio Pochettino in 2017, luring him away from former club Southampton as the duo – who hail from the same town in Santa Fe in Argentina – reunited in North London.
A giant of a goalkeeper, Gazzaniga initially showed promise with Gillingham before heading to Southampton, where he played just 23 times before his shock move to Tottenham.

Now, Gazzaniga’s rise has seen him earn the ultimate honour, as he has been called up to the Argentina squad for the first time, and could earn a first cap in one of two friendlies against Mexico over the coming week.
Another Spurs player in the squad is Lamela, and he has now told ESPN that he thinks Gazzaniga is showing Premier League quality in training every single day, and he has been ‘amazing’ so far this season.
“Paulo is showing in every training session that he can play in the Premier League, and when he played he did amazingly,” said Lamela. “I’m so happy for him, but he didn’t surprise me because I know he’s an amazing keeper,” he added.
