Tottenham Hotspur offloaded winger Erik Lamela to Sevilla this summer, and he already seems to be enjoying his time in Spain.
Fabio Paratici wanted to bring the age of the Tottenham squad down over the summer.
Out went the likes of Joe Hart, Toby Alderweireld and Serge Aurier. In their places came Pierluigi Gollini, Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal.
Paratici also struck a part-exchange deal. Tottenham signed winger Bryan Gil, sending Lamela to Sevilla as part of the deal.
Lamela enjoys great start at Sevilla
Argentinian ace Lamela has started brilliantly since leaving Tottenham.
Lamela scored twice on his Sevilla debut against Rayo Vallecano. He then followed that up with another goal against Getafe in his next outing.
Boss Julen Lopetegui appears to be managing Lamela’s minutes carefully. Lamela hasn’t yet played more than 45 minutes in a game for Sevilla.
On Tuesday, Lamela came on as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Red Bull Salzburg. In a truly bonkers game, Lamela conjured up a stunning moment.

Lamela earns praise from Tottenham legend Clive Allen
Lamela picked up the ball on the right flank. He then turned away from Brenden Aaronson before a beautiful ball roll past Andreas Ulmer.
Tottenham fans will remember Lamela’s ball rolls well. He used them regularly, and this is why – every now an then, you make a defender look silly.
Tottenham legend Clive Allen was on co-commentary duty for BT Sport, and he loved Lamela’s skill.
Allen branded Lamela’s nonchalant skill ‘sensational’, noting that the crowd love it – and it’s great to see Lamela loved by a fanbase after some mixed verdicts at Tottenham.
“The crowd love that,” said Allen. “That was sensational work down the touchline. This was superb with the drag and taking it down the touchline,” he added.
