Erik Lamela has reacted on Instagram to Tottenham’s official post about Davinson Sanchez’s start to the new Premier League season.
The recently departed Spurs man simply wrote ‘best mode’ in the comments section, as the club posted some healthy numbers from Sanchez’s first three games, including his 12 clearances.
Last season was one to forget for Sanchez and perhaps his worst in Tottenham colours.
But during this campaign, and under the guidance of a fresh face with new ideas, he has looked like a top-quality centre-half.
The North London club have won all three of their opening games, securing clean sheets in every one of those matches to add the cherry onto the cake.
It has been Eric Dier, another player who found life difficult last term, who has partnered Sanchez at the back.
With Spurs paying big-money for Cristian Romero this summer, it’s going to be interesting to see how he fits in.
At this moment in time, the Argentinian finds himself embroiled in a mess in Brazil.
Romero, alongside Giovani Lo Celso, and Aston Villa duo Emiliano Martinez and Buendia, have been accused of breaking COVID Rules.
It resulted in Brazil’s World Cup qualifier showdown with Argentina being suspended last night, with health authorities storming the pitch to try and detain the above four players in question and Lionel Messi making his feelings clear about the matter.
Nonetheless, given the mess over in South America and Tottenham’s current form, it doesn’t look like Romero will be earning regular minutes in the Premier League any time soon.
