Eric Dier has wrote to ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho saying ‘a big hug mister’ following his sacking.
Mourinho was let go by Tottenham yesterday morning, after a series of poor results.
Dier was a player who seemed to gain Mourinho’s trust at Spurs, even if he fell out of favour more recently.
The central defender was often overlooked, but Mourinho often spoke positively about Dier during his time at Spurs in public.
The England international was a player who Mourinho had praised before he even arrived at Tottenham.
And his message on Twitter seems to suggest that he was disappointed to see the Portuguese boss depart.
Dier actually has a big point to prove under Tottenham’s new management.
Despite Mourinho’s faith in him, Dier was never really able to iron out the errors in his game.
And if he fails to impress under Tottenham’s new boss, his place in the side could come under real scrutiny very quickly.
