Everton fans are annoyed on Twitter after Ben Godfrey was called up to represent England U21’s in the Euro U21 finals this summer.
Given the performances Godfrey has showcased during this campaign, some Everton supporters think he should be playing for the first-team.
Gareth Southgate is in need of defensive options and Godfrey has been a standout star during this campaign.
From playing at centre-back to full-back, he has shown versatility that would be of great use to England’s senior side.
But it seems as though other names, such as Eric Dier and Tyrone Mings will be selected ahead of the 23-year-old, which has left some Toffees supporters frustrated.
Either way, an important summer awaits Godfrey and it is another chance for him to take his game to another level.
He isn’t the only one who will be repping Everton in the summer because Tom Davies will also be looking to do his business in the middle of the park.
