Eric Dier has told Tottenham’s website that Son Heung-min has “improved” so much during his time at Spurs, and the South Korea skipper continues to improve. Dier says Son can win the Premier League top scorer award.

Son, who turns 30 in July, netted his 20th Premier League goal of the season on Saturday evening – tapping home Ryan Sessegnon’s cross to put his side 1-0 up against Liverpool. However, Luis Diaz equalised, via a deflection.

It sees the ex-Bayer Leverkusen star sit in second place in the Premier League goalscoring rankings, two behind Mo Salah and seven ahead of England captain Harry Kane. Kane does have 23 goals in all competitions.

Asked about Son, Dier claims that Son has improved greatly since joining Spurs in 2015, seven years ago. He also believes Son is still improving and keeps telling him that the Premier League golden boot is there to be won.

“He’s improved so much. He keeps on improving. Before every game, I’m telling him that top scorer is there. He needs to believe it and he does, he’s getting closer. I hope as a team we can help him get that achievement.”

Dier on Son: Can Tottenham star pip Salah to golden boot award?

Without a doubt. Salah has only managed two goals in his last seven Premier League appearances and it is without doubt, that the Egyptian ace’s goal threat has died off somewhat compared to the start of the season.

Son, meanwhile, has nine goals in his last seven Premier League games. He has got to keep that form up in order to reach 23, and hope that Salah’s form continues. Spurs still face Arsenal, Burnley and Norwich.
