England international Eric Dier has been at Tottenham Hotspur since the summer of 2014.
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Eric Dier has told The Mirror that his footballing brain is a bit foreign.
The 22-year-old, who can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder, has outlined his footballing education away from England.
Dier’s formative years as a footballer were at Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon’s academy.
The England international moved to Tottenham in the summer of 2014 and has been a huge success at White Hart Lane.
“I think my footballing brain is a bit foreign because I learned everything I know somewhere else so it’s different,” Dier told The Mirror. “I grew up a certain way and the way I grew up is the way I believe in football.”
Dier is one of the best and most talented English players in the Premier League.
The youngster has established himself as a key figure in the England national football team.
The defender is not guaranteed a place in Tottenham’s starting lineup at the moment, but there can be no doubt that he will be hugely important for the North London outfit as the season progresses.
Spurs are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 21 points from 11 matches.
The North London outfit are just five points behind leaders Liverpool and are very much in the title race.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will face West Ham United at White Hart Lane in the Premier League next weekend.
