Eric Dier has reacted on Instagram to Djed Spence securing a season-long loan move from Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur to Daniel Farke’s Leeds United.
This time last season, Djed Spence was riding a wave after helping Nottingham Forest earn promotion to the Premier League, before sealing a summer transfer to Tottenham.
But before the right-back could get warm in his seat, he was being sent vibes from his then-manager, Antonio Conte, that he seemingly wasn’t wanted by the Italian.
And that was proven by the fact that he didn’t start a single game for Spurs, before being loaned out to France in January.
But now Spence’s stock has taken a few hits which has now resulted in him having to take a step down by joining Leeds United in the Championship.
For Daniel Farke’s side, this is some coup because the player himself hasn’t done much wrong, other than hardly being picked, with players reacting to his move in the comments section on his Instagram post.

Tottenham’s Eric Dier reacted by posting a saluting face emoji, whilst Manchester City’s new signing, Jeremy Doku commented: ‘My G’.
Former Manchester United star Ravel Morrison told him: ‘Congratulations, bro’, Everton’s James Garner added ‘Good luck, brother’ and Japhet Tanganga responded with fire emojis.
Spence will find his feet again at Leeds
This is a move that suits all parties, Tottenham, Leeds and the player himself.
Spurs, for once, are actually blessed in the right-back department with Emerson Royal making huge strides during the last 12 months, whilst Pedro Porro has started the new season in a positive fashion.
But Leeds will get to benefit from the talents of Spence, who the last time he was in the Championship, cooked like never before – that’s why he was dubbed ‘exciting’ by former Premier League goalkeeper, Mark Schwarzer in March.
