Tottenham Hotspur have been on a superb run of form in recent weeks.

Spurs ace Eric Dier sat down for an exclusive interview with ESPN, and explained how his side’s Champions League wins over Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund were the turning points in their season.

Tottenham currently sit in fourth spot in the Premier League table, although they could be leapfrogged by Chelsea tonight, should Antonio Conte’s side beat West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were quite simply magnificent in their Champions League group, finishing ahead of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, and they were rewarded with a tie against Juventus in the knockout stages of the competition.

Dier, 24, told ESPN how Tottenham’s wins over the Spanish and German giants were real turning points in the season for his side:

Eric Dier of Tottenham Hotspur warms up prior to the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and AFC Bournemouth at Wembley Stadium on October 14, 2017 in London, England.

”The turning point was definitely those two Champions League games against Real and Dortmund. The atmosphere was fantastic. The fans and the players have to work with each other as we did in those games and from then forward we’ve been really strong.”

Pochettino’s men have earned many plaudits over the past few years for the manner in which they have gone about their business.

One criticism that is continually levelled at them, however, is the fact that they are still yet to win a trophy under the guidance of the Argentine.

Their quest to break their trophy duck continues tomorrow night, when they head to Turin to take on Juventus in the Champions League, and they will have to be at their very best, if they are to stand any chance whatsoever of progressing through to the quarter finals of the competition.
