Tottenham are reportedly looking at Eric Dier to play at right-back.

Tottenham Hotspur are willing to turn to Eric Dier at right-back to solve their injury problems, The Telegraph report.

Kyle Walker-Peters picked up an injury against Newcastle, to add to Juan Foyth’s ongoing injury issue.

Spurs are not reportedly keen on playing Serge Aurier, and Eric Dier is seen as a likely solution.

This is actually a best case scenario considering Spurs are down to their third or fourth choice at the position.

Dier has experience playing at right-back, both for Sporting, and for Tottenham.

He made his debut for Spurs at right-back, all the way back in 2014. This ended spectacularly well, with Dier surging forward to score a winner against rivals West Ham.

Dier became an instant fan favourite that day, and in doing so, showed he had the temperament for big games.

The England international has been unlucky in 2019 with injury and illness.

Competition for places has seen him fall down the pecking order in midfield, and this could be the chance he needs.

Dier is a player who consider himself a warrior, and thrives in derby matches.

This is a good opportunity to get him Dier into the team for the game, and he will not shirk the challenge. Spurs need players like him as they head to Arsenal.

Versatility is one of Dier’s top assets, and this is his chance to kickstart his season.
