Celtic reportedly want to bring Mark Diemers to the Scottish Premiership after a fine Eredivisie season with Fortuna Sittard.

What can Celtic fans expect from Mark Diemers?
According to Voetbal International, the Scottish Premiership champions have expressed an interest in the Fortuna Sittard midfielder. But to point out that he is hardly a household name in Glasgow would be a rather substantial understatement.
In fact, few outside Holland will be aware of the 25-year-old Dutchman. But there are plenty of reasons why he has caught Celtic’s eye with his performances in the Eredivisie over the last nine months or so.
In total, Diemers scored seven goals and assisted seven more in 34 league games during the 2018/19 season, helping newly promoted Sittard to comfortably avoid relegation.
He is a purposeful and dynamic attacking midfielder capable of providing a reliable source of goals from a deeper role or a natural number ten position. In fact, he is exactly the sort of player Celtic have lacked since they sold Stuart Armstrong to Southampton last summer for £7 million (The Times).

Armstrong was integral to a Celtic side who won successive domestic trebles under Brendan Rodgers with his ability to make perfectly timed runs into the penalty area or find the target from distance making him a huge threat in the final third.
Diemers has the perfect skill-set to make a similar impact.
